Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calculating the corrosion rate of macrocell in an existing concrete member quantitatively. SOLUTION: An objective region is subdivided into sections (1)-(6) along reinforcing bars (main reinforcement 16a, stirrup 16b) and an equivalent circuit having joints 1,..., 10 of reinforcing bars 16 and 17 and a concrete member 18 is formed for each section (1)-(6). Reinforcing bar potential Vi (i is an odd number), polarization resistance Ri,j (j is an even number) of reinforcing bar, and electric resistance Rs of the member 18 are then measured for each section (1)-(6). Subsequently, the concrete potential Vj is determined by solving simultaneous equations obtained by bringing the sum of currents flowing into respective joints (j) and flowing out therefrom to zero and a macrocell anode current Ii,j is calculated from the Vi, Vj and Rj,j+2. |
