Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which power consumption can be reduced as compared with conventional low power consumption state and the low power consumption state can be released in a short time without generating any time out error. SOLUTION: When a low power consumption state where power supply to a control section is interrupted is released by a control signal 3 (release of low power mode), a Busy signal indicative of receivability of data is delivered from an imaging apparatus at an interval wider than the normal interval and the reception rate of print data is lowered as compared with the normal rate. When initialization is completed at the control section (completion of initial setting of CPU), the BUSY signal is delivered at the normal interval by a control signal 2 and the print data is received at the normal rate. Since the reception rate of print data is lowered until initialization is completed at the control section, the low power consumption state can be realized without generating any time out error.
