PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel thermoset resin composition reinforced with a rubber composition, and its preparation process. SOLUTION: The process for preparing a liquid rubber composition for a cured thermoset resin, the liquid rubber composition being characterized as being miscible in the uncured state of the above thermoset resin and immiscible in the cured state of the above thermoset resin, the above liquid rubber composition comprising a polymer chain having at least one non-functional aromatic terminal end-group, a weight average molecular weight of at least 500 g/mol, and a glass transition temperature of lower than 25 deg.C, the process comprising the steps of: (a) forming a reaction mixture comprising (i) the reaction mixture of at least one 1-20C alkyl acrylate monomer and (ii) the reaction mixture of at least one aromatic moiety-containing initiator; (b) charging the reaction mixture into a reactor; (c) initiating polymerization of the above monomer with the above aromatic moiety-containing initiator to form a reaction product containing the above polymer chain; and (d) providing a reaction residence time sufficient for the polymer chain to form.
