Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling ability of a chilled chamber by upgrading the flow of a cold gas to the chilled chamber. SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises the chilled chamber 7 provided at the lower section of a cold storage chamber 6 in such a manner that the cold gas to the chamber 6 is supplied through a cold gas passage 19 of a ceiling side and the cold gas to the chamber 7 is supplied through a cold gas return passage 17 behind the chamber 7. In this refrigerator, a ratio of a lateral width of a communicating section at an upper forward part of a partition 13 having an air supply port 13a communicating with the passage 19 of the chamber 6 side, to that of a cold gas passage 16 of the chamber 7 side is set to 1:1, the cold gas fed from the port 13a is vertically and equally distributed to upper and lower parts to improve the flow of the cold gas to the chamber 7, and hence the cooling ability of the chamber 7 can be improved.
