Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a magneto-optical disk which can make the recording power margin greater and an apparatus for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The magneto-optical disk in which a reproducing layer and a recording layer are laminated on a substrate 11 and reading out the information by MSR of CAD system is manufactured. Before the reproducing layer and the recording layer are formed on the substrate 11, the surface of the substrate 11 is irradiated with UV rays. A UV lamp 22, such as a high-pressure mercury lamp, is used for the light source and the substrate 11 is irradiated while the substrate is rotated by a revolving motor 24. The surface of the substrate 11 is heated by irradiation with the UV rays and is reformed by an annealing effect. The intensity of the irradiation with the UV rays on the same circumference is made uniform by rotating the substrate 11 and its surface condition is made uniform as well. As a result, the characteristics are improved and the recording powder margin can be increased to >=30%. |
