Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display system for suitably providing various contents by adjusting contrast and sharpness of a desired partial region. SOLUTION: The video display system is provided with a region selector for setting a prescribed region by a displayed video, and a parameter control circuit capable of selecting a video regulation parameter for regulating a method and a place for highlighting the prescribed region by the displayed image. The region selector and the parameter control circuit are preferably positioned in a display device. The display device is CDT, TFT-LCD or PDP, the region selector is preferably a pointing device or a hot key, and can select square and non-square regions.
