Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant that does not deteriorate the organic EL luminous body even if used for a long period and an electroluminescent element superior in durability using the sealant. SOLUTION: A layer of a sealant made of an alicyclic structure-contained polymer is formed at least on the secondary display electrode layer of the electroluminescence element in which a primary display electrode layer, a luminous layer, and a secondary display electrode layer are laminated in order on a transparent substrate.
