Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a documents retrieving device capable of retrieving an exact document desired by a user and also correctly calculating the degree of association even when the document is diverted. SOLUTION: This document retrieving device is provided with a document ranking part for selecting a suitable document suitable to a keyword and an unsuitable document unsuitable to the keyword from a document database (S2 to S4), a word ranking part for calculating the degree of association of a word appearing in the selected suitable document with the keyword while considering that the word appears in the document only when words or characters around the word are different from those of other suitable documents and unsuitable documents and selecting a word with a high degree of this association as a related term of the keyword (S6), and a keyword generating part for generating a new keyword by adding the selected related term to the original keyword (S7 to S9), and retrieves a suitable document suitable to the generated new keyword.
