Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a troubleshooting method for a cryogenic refrigerating machine comprising the steps of finding a refrigerating machine exhibiting a deteriorated refrigeration performance from among an enormous number of base stations, and executing maintenance and inspection in an early stage, and to provide a troubleshooting apparatus for the same. SOLUTION: The troubleshooting apparatus for the cryogenic refrigerating machine comprises a cold box 6, a cold stage 7a provided in the cold box 6, a cryogenic compressor 7c for cooling the cold stage 7a, circuit elements installed in the cold stage 7a, a sensor provided on an arbitrary one of the elements and having an arbitrary detecting function, and a controller 8 to which a detection signal of the sensor is inputted and which executes control for troubleshooting the cryogenic refrigerating machine 7 when the value of the input signal is judged to be abnormal.
