Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral strip in a shear-resistance reinforced spiral strip which can be subjected to operation by spot welding. SOLUTION: The high strength spiral strip having excellent spot weldability consists of a rolling stock containing specified components, and has 0.2% proof stress in a class of 490 N/mm , and with which the ratio of the reduction in the uniform elongation of the main strip when spot-welded with the main strip is extremely low, and the high uniform elongation of the main strip is easily obtained. Further, the uniform elongation of the high strength spiral strip inclusive of the spot-weld zone after the welding is >=1.0%, and the uniform elongation of the main strip is >=2.5%.
