Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory device capable of reliably protecting data even when a reset request is generated in a write operation and to provide a method for protecting the memory device. SOLUTION: This memory device is provided with a memory for holding data, a writing part for writing data in the memory, a monitor part for monitoring that the writing part is performing its writing operation, and a reset judging part for temporarily rejecting the reset request of the writing part when it is recognized that the writing part is performing its writing operation on the basis of the monitored result of the monitor part and for outputting the reset signal of the writing part after the writing operation is completed.
