Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic recording device and a method for magnetic recording in which thermal fluctuation is suppressed and the recording density can be improved. SOLUTION: The thermal fluctuation is suppressed and the recording density can be significantly improved by providing the magnetic recording medium having the following features. The medium has a functional layer (12) containing a magnetic material and a recording layer (11) containing a magnetic material and deposited on the functional layer. The recording layer contains a plurality of magnetic particles (51) and a nonmagnetic material present among the magnetic particles. The functional layer and the recording layer generate the exchange coupling interaction at room temperature in the direction almost perpendicular to each other.
