Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the life of a two-dimensional spatial optical modulation element without hindering the stability of the light source lamp of an image exposure device. SOLUTION: The image exposure device for exposing photosensitive material to the light obtained by modulating illuminating light emitted from a light source in accordance with the spectral sensitivity of the photosensitive material by the two-dimensional spatial optical modulation element is equipped with an optical system for preventing the two-dimensional spatial optical modulation element from being irradiated with the illuminating light in the non image- exposure time.
