Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber-reinforced composite material having excellent heat resistance, flame resistance and mechanical characteristics. SOLUTION: The method comprises the following steps in this order using a resin composition containing a cyanate ester compound represented by a special structural formula of 100 pts.wt. and a metal coordination type catalyst of 0.001-5 pts.wt. and/or an active hydrogen type catalyst of 0.1-10 pts.wt.: (1) a step for arranging a reinforced fiber and a resin composition with a mold, (2) a step for heating them at 50-95 deg.C to obtain a fiber-reinforced composite material intermediate, (3) a step for detaching the intermediate from the mold and (4) a step for heating the intermediate at 130-250 deg.C to obtain the fiber- reinforced composite material. The fiber-reinforced composite material is obtained by the method.
