Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device to treat ear sections C generated at four corners of packaging sheets when a cylindrical article 10 is packaged with top and bottom packaging sheets A and B which become a square shape under a non- packaged state, and to provide a treated package. SOLUTION: This LUG section treating device 40 is equipped with vacuum suction ports 42 and 42 which suck in the ear sections C on vertical machine frames 43 and 43. Under a state wherein the ear sections C are sucked into the vacuum suction ports 42 and 42, heat-welding means 44 and 44 located at a standing-by location are moved inward. Then, the base sections of the ear sections C are newly heat-welded. The distal ends of the ear sections are removed.
