Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to recover and recycle parts of a flat panel display. SOLUTION: In the method wherein the rear plate, a face plate opposingly arranged to the rear plate, a frame part, and a spacer to retain the distance between the rear plate and the face plate against air pressure are possessed and the spacer is recovered from the flat panel display which is welded with them with a frit glass, when the welded part between the spacer and the rear plate or the face plate is immersed into a nitric acid solution and the frit glass is dissolved, this is carried out by using a spacer recovery jig to avoid contact between the mutual spacers or between the spacer and the peripheral member. Further, in the method wherein fluorescent materials are recovered from the display device in which the fluorescent materials are coated on a substrate and display is carried out by making the fluorescent materials emit light, the fluorescent materials coated on the substrate are recovered by a combined use of a brush and an aspirator.
