Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router that can solve a security problem, efficiently utilize the communication channels of a communication enterprise and cause no inconvenience even in the case of utilizing an on-line application for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The router is provided with: a LAN side monitor section that monitors the link state with a LAN side device at a LAN side port and informs a WAN side channel control section of it when the link state is changed; and the WAN side channel control section which conducts changeover control of connection/disconnection of a communication channel at a WAN side port according to prescribed conditions with respect to the link state at the LAN side port when receiving the notice from the LAN side monitor section.
