Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily improve the read quality (recording quality) at a low cost by excluding black stripes or the like which appear at the time of setting shared sensitivity correction data. SOLUTION: Sensitivity correction data (the first sensitivity correction data) S12, S34, S56, etc., common to a lot of read elements R1, R2, R3, etc., of an image sensor 2 on the basis of output level data W1, W2, W3, etc., obtained from the read elements R1, etc. When output level data W1, etc., are corrected, correction is performed to raise the sensitivity by the second sensitivity correction data G with respect to the first sensitivity correction data S12, etc., in the case that deviation values E12, etc., between output level data W1, W2, etc., to be corrected by the first arbitrary sensitivity correction data S12, etc., are equal to or larger then a preliminarily set value M.
