Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase in the amount of traffic in a network by changing data transmission processing, depending on the traffic amount in the network. SOLUTION: A network connection device is provided with a DMX communication section 21, that receives dimmer control data of a data form which confirms with the dimmer control protocol, a transmitter side protocol conversion section 22 that converts the dimmer control data received into a packet, conforming with the data transmission protocol to be transmitted by a LAN network 5, a traffic detection section 32 that acquires the traffic state of the LAN network 5, and a transmission reception control section 31 that selects the data transmission system for transmission of the converted packet through the LAN network 5, and transmits the packet converted in compliance with the selected data transmission system to the LAN network 5.
