Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating electricity in a fuel cell by oxidation of hydrocarbon and filtration of particles thereafter, and an apparatus for the same. SOLUTION: a) A flow of raw material including hydrocarbon of less than 400 deg.C in boiling point, b) is pre-heated at 200 deg.C or more, a temperature sufficient to thoroughly vaporize the flow of raw material. c) A flow of oxidizing gas including air is pre-heated at 400 deg.C or more. d) Both the flows are reacted in a partial oxidation area (3) under a specified condition. e) An effluent therefrom is cooled down (5) at 200 to 1050 deg.C. f) The cooled effluent is filtrated through a first filter (7) as long as the soot particles are deposited thereon, and discharged therefrom. g) The discharged effluent enriched with hydrogen is fed to the fuel cell (10). The first filter now having the soot is regenerated in oxygen-containing gas.
