Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus and a method for measuring the optical characteristics of an optical scanning optical unit having a plurality of light sources without making the size of optical scanning optical unit large. SOLUTION: This apparatus for measuring the optical characteristics of the optical scanning optical unit having a plurality of light sources 2 arranged in a subscanning direction has means 91 and 92 for detecting each luminous flux B emitted from a plurality the light sources and a means for measuring the optical characteristics of the luminous based on the detected result. The means 91 and 92 for detecting the luminous flux have a plurality of pixels. It is desirable that the means 91 and 92 have a means for obtaining a luminous flux intensity distribution curve from the quantity of the luminous flux outputted by a plurality of the pixels and a means for measuring the beam shape of the luminous flux from the luminous flux intensity distribution curve. |
