Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vehicle detecting method and device capable of simultaneously presenting different information in addition to advancing information of a vehicle in spite of a simple method. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a means for detecting vehicle advancing and a means for detecting the car body color of the advancing vehicle. The advancing of the vehicle is detected, detection light is also emitted to the car body of the advancing vehicle, detection light reflected from the car body is received by a light receiving means, and information of the car body color can be simultaneously presented together with the advancing information of the car body. Since the information of the car body color can be simultaneously presented together with the advancing information of the car body, the vehicle can be more accurately specified.
