Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a post-patient collimator 56 for a computerized tomographic(CT) imaging system. SOLUTION: At least one directional energy beam welder 64 is used to perform edge welding of a collimator plate 62 to a top rail 58 and edge welding of the collimator plate to a bottom rail 60. This method provides the method of manufacturing the post patient collimator for the CT imaging system of higher efficiency and lower cost than a method of requiring a precise comb- shaped member for accurately positioning the plate.
