Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a black-and-white silver halide photographic sensitive material in which uneven processing is prevented and the metal parts of an automatic processing machine do not rust even if the automatic processing machine is not subjected to exhaust ventilation when the black-and-white silver halide photographic sensitive material is processed with the automatic processing machine using a developing solution not substantially containing a dihydroxybenzene developing agent. SOLUTION: In the processing method in which a black-and-white silver halide photographic sensitive material is processed with an automatic processing machine through at least developing and fixing steps, the black-and-white silver halide photographic sensitive material is processed in the developing step with a developing solution not substantially containing a dihydroxybenzene developing agent and using ascorbic acid or its derivative as a developing agent and then it is processed in the fixing step with a fixing solution containing 0.01-0.30 mol/l sulfite, a thiosulfate, 0.15-0.50 mol/1 succinic acid and at least 0.10 mol/l compound having an acid dissociation constant of 10<-6> -10<-8> (pKa 6-8). |
