Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, speedily and precisely position an optical fiber by reducing the moving quantity of the optical fiber due to laser welding. SOLUTION: In a semiconductor laser module 1 provided with a semiconductor laser light source 7 for irradiating the input end 29 of the optical fiber 9 with laser beams, an optical fiber holding member 11 for holding the optical fiber 9 so that the input end 9 may face a position at a prescribed distance from the light source 7 and a pedestal 3 for supporting these light source 7 and the member 11, the optical fiber is positioned by performing laser-welding directly to a metallic ferule 27 formed in the periphery of the optical fiber. |
