Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an austenitic stainless steel sheet which has excellent press formability into a sink, and has high corrosion resistance to chlorine gas generated from a slime removal agent for a sewage hole and a sterilization agent for a septic tank. SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel sheet has a chemical composition containing, by mass, <=0.035% C, <=0.6% Si, 0.8 to 1.8% Mn, 7.5 to 8.3% Ni, 16.3 to 17.1% Cr, 1.7 to 2.3% Cu, 0.7 to 1.1% Mo and <=0.025% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and also satisfying a specified relational equation. The stainless steel sheet has corrosion resistance for >=48 hr to gas generated from a 0.3% sodium dichloroisocyanurate aqueous solution, a proof stress at 0.2% elongation in the rolling direction of <=260 MPa, and a total elongation of >=56%.
