SOLUTION: In a recording device wherein the record head carried on a travelable carriage records an image on the sheet S conveyed by a sheet carrying mechanism 23, which carries the sheet S holding it between a platen 21 and a driven roller 25A, the driven roller 25A comprises a ring member 51 integrated with a roller body 50 made from an elastic body, and the ring member 51 is constituted so that its surface friction resistance is smaller than that of the roller body 50 and its outer diameter is larger than that of the roller body 50 and so as to be able to bend radially.
