Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize control precluded from the possibility that a front wheel load gets difficult to be detected, or structure for the detection gets complicated, affected by a temperature change, when the front wheel load is detected to control damping force of a steering damper because a kickback is easily to be generated with getting light of the front wheel load. SOLUTION: The rotary type steering damper 10 is provided coaxially to a steering shaft, and the damping force is switched to be generated or brought into zero by a variable valve 38 provided in a by-path 37 for connecting a right liquid chamber 34 to a left liquid chamber 35. The switching is controlled by a controller 40, and the controller 40 allows generation of the damping force in the steering damper 10 only when acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor 41 exceeds a threshold value. Generation variation in an acceleration by a vehicle speed is corrected when it is used as a weighting condition for the control that the vehicle speed detected by a body speed sensor 42 exceeds a threshold value.
