Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dioxins decomposition catalyst used for cleaning a waste gas discharged from an incineration equipment for municipal refuse, industrial waste, or the like. SOLUTION: The dioxins decomposition catalyst is composed of a porous crystalline alumino silicate, in which at least one of a transition metal cation and proton is ion-exchanged and supported and an Si/Al atomic ratio is 5-20. The alumino silicate is, for example mordenite or super-stabilized Y type zeolite. The transition metals (IUPAC 1989 edition periodical table, group VIII XI) are one or more kinds of elements selected from copper, iron, cabalt and sliver. The catalyst exhibits excellent catalytic activity at a low temperature of <=300 deg.C (for example, 100-250 deg.C) and is capable of decomposing and eliminating effectively even diluted dioxins in the various incineration waste gas.
