Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide low alloy steel which has excellent resistance to gaseous carbon dioxide corrosion, and is most suitable for an oil well pipe and a line pipe for producing and transporting gas and petroleum used in the field of energy or for steel for a plant, and to provide a low alloy steel line pipe. SOLUTION: The low alloy steel having excellent resistance to corrosion by gaseous carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide has a composition which contains, by mass, <=0.3% C, 2 to 7% Cr, <0.2% Si, 0.02 to 1.5% Mn and 2 to 7% Al and in which the total of the Cr content and the Al content is >=5%, and which further contains, if required, Cu, Ni and Mo, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities. The low alloy steel line pipe uses the low alloy steel. |
