Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adamantane derivative compound capable of being used as an organic compound which is highly heat-resistant, has low crystallinity, and can exhibit a positive hall-transporting, light-emitting, electron- transporting function, etc., more effectively than ever. SOLUTION: This adamantane derivative compound has an adamantane skeleton expressed by the chemical formula (i), wherein three or more groups among R1 to R14 are replaced by functional units which have each the positive hall-transporting, light-emitting, and electron-transporting function. The adamantane derivative compound preferably has such a structure that at least one functional unit bonds to a methylene part of the adamantane skeleton, and more preferably has such a structure that at least two functional units bond to an identical methylene part of the adamantane skeleton. The electroluminescent device which can emit the light with high efficiency and has a long lifetime is realized by using the compound as a material for an organic compound layer 14 positioned between a first electrode 12 and a second electrode 16. |
