Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printing medium products (10, 100 and 200) for receiving ink which has a minimized drying time, an improved blur resistance, desired gloss characteristics and a gloss uniformity with a capability of forming a very sharp image and also shows numerous performances such as outstanding suitability and compatibility between a supplied ink material and the medium products (10, 100 and 200) with other related advantages such as the control of ink coalescence. SOLUTION: Each of the printing medium products (10, 100 and 200) has, for example, at least one ink receiving layer (30 and 102) formed on a base (12) consisting of a polyethylene-coated paper. The ink receiving layer (30 and 102) contains a poly (vinyl alcohol-ethylene oxide) copolymer as a special multifunctional component for solving the described considerations. This copolymer is used for the ink receiving layer (30 and 102) independently or in combination with one or more components such as pigment and an auxiliary binder. Thus the printing medium products (10, 100 and 200) which are ideally suitable and effective for forming an ink jet image with the use of a wide range of various kinds of ink are manufactured. |
