Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a stable light-emitting action in a carrier injection type electric field light-emitting element using a polymer material as a substrate. SOLUTION: An ITO transparent electrode film 3, an organic thin film 5 made of an organic light-emitting material, and a negative electrode film 6 are laminated on the substrate 1 made by a polymer film. The polymer material layer 7 and an inorganic material layer 8 are laminated on each of these electrode films 3, 6 and the organic thin film 5, protect the invasion of water and oxygen into the electrode films 3, 6 and the organic thin film 5, and prevent them from the deterioration. The inorganic material thin film 8 has a high barrier performance against water vapor and oxygen, and is superior in a sealing performance, but in case a direct film formation of the inorganic material thin film 8 is made on the negative electrode film 6 without installing the polymer material layer 7, a film peeling-off and a crack of the inorganic material thin film 8 itself and the deterioration of the substrate 1 easily occur. The electric field light-emitting element in which a characteristic of the substrate is maintained and which has a highly reliable sealing characteristic is obtained by installing the polymer material layer 7. |
