Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous suspension for instillation comprising 9-[(2- hydroxyethoxy)methyl]guanine, which contains the therapeutic agent for ocular corneal herpes infectious diseases in a sufficient, and effective amount as an and having excellent stability. SOLUTION: This aqueous suspension for the instillation is characterized in that 0.2-5 wt.% of a fine crystal of the 9-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]guanine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, 0.05-1 wt.% of a partially saponified substance of polyvinyl acetate and 0.01-1 wt.% of a nonionic surfactant are contained and the pH thereof is 6-8. In the aqueous suspension for the instillation, the fine crystal of the 9-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]guanine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt which is the active ingredient especially ahs <=50 μ minor axis and <=70 μm major axis in 1:<=10 ratio of the minor axis to the major axis. |
