Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink ribbon cartridge in which the service life is prevented from being deteriorated by residuary substances of print. SOLUTION: Means for removing residuary substances of print is provided in the traveling passage of an ink ribbon 3 between an ink ribbon print section 100 and an ink ribbon drive section comprising a drive gear 1 and an idle gear 2. The means for removing residuary substances of print comprises a brush 9 abutting against the ink ribbon 3. Residuary substances of print generated during print operation and adhering to the ink ribbon 3 are removed from the ink ribbon 3 by means of the brush 9.
