Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound for inhibiting biosynthesis of cholesterol and a medicinal composition for curing hypercholesterolemia and provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The aforesaid compound for inhibiting biosynthesis of cholesterol is a salt of a complex of a [R-(R*,R*)]-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-β,δ-dihydroxy-5-(1- methylethyl)-3-phenyl-4-[(phenylamino)carbonyl]-1H-pyrrole-1-heptanoic acid selected from a group consisting of a sodium salt, a potassium salt, an N- methylglucamine salt, a hemimagnesium salt, a hemizinc salt and 1- deoxy-2-(methylamino)-D-glucitol complex. The medicinal composition contains the aforesaid compound.
