PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for sludge which facilitates the reutilization of phosphorus and makes a contribution to the reduction of an amount of discharging a phosphorus component by using a simplified system in the treatment method for organic waste water thereby efficiently separating and recovering the phosphorus component. SOLUTION: The method of treating the sludge including (a) a metal removing process step of dissociating the metal ions sticking to the surface layers of the solids in the sludge to be treated and preventing the readhesion the metal ions to the solids, (2) a phosphorus releasing process step of releasing the phosphorus component in the sludge to be treated to a liquid phase, (3) a solid-liquid separating process step of subjecting the treating liquid after the phosphorus relapsing treatment to a separation of solid from the liquid and (4) a phosphorus flocculating process step of settling the phosphorus components by adding a flocculating agent to the liquid phase containing the released phosphorus component as well as the treatment method for the organic waste water including the respective process steps described above and the equipment for the same.
