Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a durability performance test method of a steering device of a vehicle and a testing device capable of improving the accuracy of a test. SOLUTION: In this durability performance test method of the steering device, a pinion 4 of the steering device 24 is rotationally driven by a pinion driving device 23, and the rotation of the pinion is transmitted to right and left tie-rods 9 through a rack bar 6, and a reciprocating motion between the right maximum steering angle and the left maximum steering angle is repeated, to thereby execute the performance test of the steering device. The method is characterized by executing rotation gradually up to one of the right and left maximum steering angles, returning the rotation up to a retention steering angle which is a little smaller steering angle than the maximum steering angle after reaching the maximum steering angle, maintaining the retention steering angle as long as a retention time, and restarting rotation gradually toward the other of the right and left maximum steering angles after elapse of the retention time.
