Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a selvedge-fixed glass cloth useful for producing high-quality prepregs with high frayproofness and heat resistance, and environmentally favorable. SOLUTION: This selvedge-fixed glass cloth is obtained by coating a given width of each of both the selvedges of a glass cloth with an antioxidant- incorporated polyamide resin for preventing the selvedges from fraying at normal temperatures and even under heating conditions. By the way, since the main solvent of the resin liquid to be used for fixing the selvedges of the glass cloth is water, there occurs no workplace environmental pollution over the total process ranging from its preparation, coating to drying, therefore being also effective from the viewpoint of environmental protection. |
