Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method enabling simple, quick and reliable determination of crankshaft angles even if the number of revolution of a crankshaft is very small. SOLUTION: a) The actual angular position of a rotor is detected by an apparatus for determining angular positions and is transmitted to a controller. b) The controller determines the actual corresponding crankshaft angle based on the angular position detected. c) The crankshaft angle thus detected is transferred from the controller to the control part of a combustion powered machine. d) The value of the rotor angular position detected and/or the crankshaft angle determined therefrom are at least temporarily stored in a storage device.
