Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition which can improve the life characteristics of a bearing, reduce the consumed electric power, and the like in a high speed spindle motor. SOLUTION: This lubricant composition contains as a base oil an oil consisting mainly of a fatty acid ester which is represented by the general formula (I) R1-COO-(AO)n-R2... (I) [R1 is a 12 to 24C saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R2 is a 1 to 18C alkyl; A is a 1 to 8C alkylene; (n) is an average value of 1 to 4] and has a kinematic viscosity of 1 to 68 mm2/s at a temperature of 40 deg.C.
