Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of start and stop of an engine. SOLUTION: A sound insulation case 10 for housing the engine 43 has a front face part, a back face part, left and right side face parts 13 and 14, a bottom face part 15 and an upper face part 16, and is formed into a nearly rectangular solid shape as a whole. The engine 43 is so disposed in the sound insulation case 10 as to orient its crankshaft 44 in the widthwise direction of the sound insulation case 10. A generating body 60 and a recoil starter 51 are connected to the crankshaft 44, and the recoil starter 51 is disposed between the generating body 60 and the engine 43. A recoil knob is attached to the tip of a recoil rope 53 wound around a recoil pulley 54 of the recoil starter 51, and disposed in the front face part of the sound insulation case 10. A control panel is installed in the front face part, so that an operator can start and stop the engine from the front side of the sound insulation case 10.
