Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device for an image forming device which stirs toner without giving mechanical damage and stably accurately detects the quantity of remaining toner independently of stirring. SOLUTION: A developing device 10 is provided with a toner vessel 11 where toner is stored, a supply roll 12 which supplies the toner in the toner vessel 11 to a developing roll 13, the developing roll 13 which supplies the toner to a photosensitive drum 20, a stirring device 1 which stirs the toner in the toner vessel 11, and a toner sensor (a light emitting part 15a and a light receiving part 15b) which detects the quantity of toner remaining in the toner vessel 11. The stirring device 1 is comprised of a cylindrical rotating body 2 rotatably supported in the toner vessel 11 and plural fins 3 which are provided on the outer peripheral part of this rotating body 2 and scoop the toner. The light emitting part 15a and the light receiving part 15b of the toner sensor face are arranged so as to each other with a hollow part 2a of the rotating body 2.
