Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid agent for a contact lens having excellent sterilization action (disinfection action), safety of eyes and preservation stability, preferably useful for disinfecting, preserving and rinsing a contact lens. SOLUTION: This liquid agent for a contact lens is characterized in that the liquid agent comprises an aqueous solution of a hexamethylenebiguanide derivative represented by formula (I) (X and Y are each a group represented by formula II or a group represented by formula III; (n) is a number of 1-500) and has 0.01-50 ppm content of hexamethylenebiguanide derivative and <=15 wt.% based on the whole amount of the hexamethylenebiguanide derivative of content of components in which (n) is 1-4 in formula (I).
