Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct jitters by suppressing heat interferences between tracks and between pits during recording in an optical information medium for recording a high-density signal by a red short wavelength laser having a wavelength of 700 nm or lower. SOLUTION: This optical information medium is provided with a light transmissive substrate 1, a tracking groove 3 formed on the surface of the light transmissive substrate 1, a light absorbing layer 12 formed on the surface of the light transmissive substrate 1 having the groove 3 formed, and a reflecting layer 13 formed on the light absorbing layer 12 to reflect a recording/ reproducing light. In this case, the average film thickness dav of the light absorbing layer 12 is 40 nm<=dav<=65 nm, and ρ=nabs.dav/λ given by the real number part nab of the complex refractive index of the light absorbing layer 12, the average film thickness dav, and the wavelength of a reproducing light λ is 0.14<=ρ<=0.3. |
