PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new treating method for oil-containing wastewater, capable of greatly improving the removal efficiency of oil and fat contained in the kitchen wastewater of a restaurant and a hotel, and in the wastewater of a supply center of school metal, lunch processing plant and food factory, and of being easily adapted to an existing grease trapping device. SOLUTION: A water tank is installed at a position different from the grease trapping device. A biological filter, which is filled with a plurality of microorganism carrier bodies carrying microorganisms, is installed in the water tank. The biological filter is kept in an aerobic atmosphere. The oil-containing wastewater in the grease trapping device is supplied into the biological filter. The wastewater filtered with a biomembrane is retained in the water tank to be discharged to the outside of a system.
