Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the sterilization in air and efficiently to ensure the smooth mixing of ions into the air by generating the plus ions and the minus ions. SOLUTION: The interior air circulated by a fan 30 in subjected to dust removal by a filter unit 20 and is partly supplied to an ion generator 40. The ion generator 40 simultaneously generates the plus ions and the minus ions by impressing AC voltage to a high-tension electrode 42 and grounding electrode 43 facing each other across a glass tube 41 (dielectric substance). The generated plus ions and the minus ions form hydrogen peroxide and/or hydroxyl radicals which remove the bacterial suspended in the air. The ion-containing air joins with the air paste the filter unit 20. As a result, the ions diffuse into the room.
