Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance drainage performance of the heat exchanging plane of a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: In a heat exchanger 20 having heat transfer fins 1, 1,..., 11, 11,... and 21, 21,... provided on the outer circumference of heat exchanger tubes 40, 40,..., inner part of the heat exchanging plane susceptible to adhesion of condensate is entirely coated with a surface treatment agent 6 exhibiting especially excellent drainage performance. In the inventive structure, drainage performance is enhanced especially and effectively at a part of in the heat exchanging plane of the heat exchanger 20 susceptible to adhesion of condensate and adhesion of water is retarded. Since condensate does not stand on the heat exchanging plane of an evaporator, number of times of defrost operation is decreased and splashing of water is retarded when the heat exchanger is employed in an indoor unit.
