Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a remaining quantity of ink stored inside an ink tank until the time immediately before the ink runs out. SOLUTION: An ink holder 3 formed of a material swelling when absorbing the ink 2 is fixed to a bottom face inside the ink tank 1 where the ink 2 is stored. It can be detected from a height change because of the swelling/ shrinkage of the ink holder 3 that the remaining quantity of the ink 2 becomes small.
