PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder that records programs on a recording medium in such a way that a device for reproducing a recorded program can identify television broadcasting or a broadcast station providing the program out of television broadcast programs that cannot be identified only with channel numbers. SOLUTION: A UI control section 1121 of a program recording and reproducing device 1100 accepts an operating channel number designated by a user, a channel conversion section 1122 converts the channel number into a broadcast channel number, a tuner control section 1124 controls a tuner to receive a broadcast with a frequency corresponding to the broadcast channel number and a recording control section 1127 records received program to a DVD-RAM. A broadcast identification information specification section 1125 specifies a broadcast station identification code or the like from the broadcast channel number on the basis of a preset reception condition and records the specified broadcast station identification code or the like to the management information area in the DVD-RAM corresponding to the recorded program.
